Touch cards launched in November 2023 to help make journeys in Cornwall more effortless with a simple tap in and out system. 

Being able to pay-as-you-go with a GWR touch card has lots of benefits, here’s some to get you started: 

• It saves you time – simply tap in and tap out
• Travel on any train as part of the PAYG scheme to get guaranteed best fares on same-day travel
• Get your Railcard discount automatically with secure and automated billing
• Smartcards and pay-as-you-go are now available for children
• Travel flexibly – no need to buy before you travel 
• Get notifications for delay repay compensation

You can currently use PAYG ticketing via the touch cards when travelling on the mainline and branch lines between Penzance and Par (west to mid-Cornwall). The touch card technology will be rolled out across the rest of Cornwall from Par all the way to Plymouth in early 2025. For now you can travel between:
