Bus passes
If you live in Cornwall, you may be eligible for a bus pass if you are an older or disabled person. Passes are issued under the English National Concessionary Travel Scheme (ENCTS).
- Travel for free on any bus on any route within Cornwall* at any time.
- Travel for free on bus services outside Cornwall between 09.30am and 11pm Monday–Friday.**
- Travel for free on bus services outside Cornwall at any time on weekends and Bank Holidays.**
* Excludes Truro Park & Ride and privately contracted coaches/buses.** Excludes Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales or the Isle of Man.
Older person’s pass (blue stripe)
Eligibility
- You’ve reached your pension age or
- You’re claiming your state pension
How to apply
- Complete your application on the Cornwall Council website’s concession pass page.
- If you don’t want to apply online, some of Cornwall’s Libraries can help you during normal opening hours.
- Cornwall Council will continue to automatically renew any Senior Passes that have been used within the last 12 months of the expiry date, they are valid for 5 years.
- They will not automatically renew any passes that haven’t been used, instead residents would need to request a new card by contacting [email protected]
- Following that Cornwall Council will send your new pass to the postal address they hold for you so it's important you notify them of any change of address.

Disabled person’s pass (orange stripe)
Eligibility
- A permanent disability, or a disability which has lasted, or is likely to last at least twelve months.
- A disability which has a big effect on a person’s ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities.
- These criteria are in line with statutory guidance issued by the Department for Transport under Section 146 of the Transport Act 2000.
How to apply
- Complete your application on the Cornwall Council website’s concession pass page.
- If you don’t want to apply online, some of Cornwall’s Libraries can help you during normal opening hours.
- The expiry date for your pass will be printed on your pass. You will need to renew it online or by post.
